Overview
The Manu National Park is the most diverse natural protected area of Peru and the World with habitats that go from 200 msnm in the Amazon forests in the confluence of the river Manu to the 3800 msnm in the zone of puna in the Peruvian Andes that includes An area of 17,163 km2, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and core area of the Biosphere Reserve in 1987. The Manu National Park is home to several ethnic groups such as Matshiguenka, Jarambut, Yines and voluntary isolation populations such as the Mashcopiros. In the Manu is reported the existence of 10,000 plant species. 250 species of mammals, 1200 species of butterflies, over 300 species of ants, 210 species of fish, 155 species of amphibians, 132 reptiles and 1025 species of birds (10% of the world population ). The Manu National Park, being considered one of the few pristine forests on the planet.

CUSCO - MANU CLOUDED FOREST (ROOSTER OF THE ROCKS) - SAN PEDRO
Departure from Cusco early in the morning in one of our specially equipped vehicles for the route. We drive through valleys, picturesque rural communities and visit the Pre-Inca tombs "Chullpas de Ninamarca". At noon we will pass by Paucartambo, typical colonial town of great importance in its time, and still retains its colonial style. Continuing the route, we ascend to the pass of the mountain Acjanacu, located at 3,850 meters above sea level. From here we begin the descent through the cloud forest and areas rich in a variety of species such as spectacled bear, rooster of rocks, orchids, bromeliads and ferns. We spent our first night comfortably installed on our outdoor platform "San Pedro".
SAN PEDRO - PILCOPATA - ATALAYA - PRIVATE RESERVATION.
Early in the morning, after a delicious breakfast, we continue our journey to Atalaya. During the tour, we will observe the flora and fauna of the Manu culture area, in Atalaya we will board our motorized boat and sail in the Alto Madre de Dios River for 5 Approximately hours to our hostel. In the course of the trip we could observe birds that live along the river like Garsas, Macaws and Vultures and some mammals like Capybaras, Monkeys and Pumas etc. We will also see plantations of bananas and cassava. This day we will enjoy a delicious lunch in our boat. Navigating the Rio Alto Madre de Dios we have the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful natural paradise, observing the great variety of flora and fauna along the Rio Caymans, Turtles, Monkeys, Tapyres, Jaguars, colorful birds such as martin fishermen, Catching flies, garsas, toucans, etc. Finally we arrive to our private reserve where we will spend the night.
Opcional: From the town of Pilcopata approximately 3 hours by raft (class II and III) in the tropical zone of the Kosñipata and Alto Madre de Dios river, passing by the spectacular Pongo de Koñeq where we will make a stop to visit the city and bathe in Its waters, then continue until we reach our Private Reserve.
MANU RESERVED AREA – MACHUWASI LAKE.
Our private reserve is located in a transition zone between the lowlands and high forest (600 m - 1,550 m), different altitudes give rise to diverse habitats, explaining the high diversity of wildlife in the environment. After breakfast, we will board our boat in which we will sail for 5 minutes to cross the Madre de Dios River and walk for 30 minutes on an interesting path to observe the fauna, such as heliconias and fruit plantations. Below, in the lagoon, we created Machuwasi the telescope to observe birds such as herons, toucans, carpenter crestirojo, Kiskadee and cardinals.
Optional: Canopy Tour New: Our customers pass from tree to tree and from platform to platform using horizontal cables with a rail system that glide quickly on the trees of this wonderful Amazon jungle. From here you can see the incredible diversity of local flora and fauna. Specialized personnel will assist you at all times during this exciting experience and will explain everything of interest that is observed from the moment one leaves the ground to the rappel from 30 meters.
MANU RESERVED ZONE - ATALAYA - CUSCO
After breakfast, we will board our boat in which we will sail for 10 minutes to go to the "Collpa", a clayey wall of the river where different species of parrots such as the blue parrot, white Parakeets Peas and possibly Maracano Macaw between Others descend every morning to extract and lick pieces of clay containing the minerals necessary for their diet. At the end of this daily activity, we will continue on the boat to the Port of Atalaya, where we will return by bus to Cusco, arriving at night.
