Overview

Machu Picchu, is an Inca citadel located in the Andes Mountains of Peru, it was a very important place of the Inca civilization. It was a sacred place. The architectural jewel that went unnoticed for centuries. Where you can also appreciate the varieties of flora and fauna of the area.
Machu Picchu (in Quechua, ‘old mountain’), is located on the top of a mountain that dominates the deep canyon of the Urubamba River, in the middle of the tropical jungle, it was both a center of worship and astronomical observation and a private hacienda of the family of the Inca Pachacútec. It consists of two large areas: an agricultural area, formed mainly by platforms and food storage areas; and another urban one, in which the sacred area stands out, with temples, squares and royal mausoleums worked with an exquisite level of perfection. The carved stone steps and channels are a constant throughout this unique archaeological site. Opposite the citadel rises Huayna Picchu (in Quechua, ‘young mountain’), which is accessed by a steep stone path.
